Wanted!

Hi everybody!

i’m new to blender and this is my first bigger work i have finished this far. so any suggestions are welcome, especially on the head (since this is my first finished head after some ugly tries).

i just used the default settings to render it with yafray and it took nearly an hour to render. are there things that i can tweak up so that the rendering is faster?

Try the Blender Internal renderer, with Shadow, EnvMap,Ray, and OSA all turned off i.e. opposite the defaults  For a “basic” scene it should render “instantly” (< 15-20 seconds).

If you’re trying to do a realistic model you have to move down the eyes. The nose is too long too. Also try to enable some gravity to the hair.

Looking good so far. I would get rid of the shadows since it’s supposed to be a paper. Also consider changing the font to more “westerny” type.

By the way did they have pins like that in the 19th century?

I think this is great! The only thing I’d change would be the font - It just screams ‘BLENDER DEFAULT’ at me. Other than that, really nice!

thanks everybody for the commets

@mstram: thx for the settings. it now renders in about 8 seconds.

@Robin: i’ve corrected the head a bit. i have also changed the shape of the mouth a bit. i think it looks more realistic now. and the hair also falls down.

@BeBraw: in the beginning i thought i do it like a modern style. something like those animated newspapers in harry potter. but i have removed them in this render since i now don’t think that they look good.
about the pins: well now that you mention it… don’t know if they had something. but i had changed them to nails.

and the font is obviosly also changed

The background reminds me of floating chocolate in Charlie and the chocolate factory, or some kind of brown-coloured silk. :stuck_out_tongue:
