like the animation…
Here is the first actual walk cycle test. I used to wonder why it took so long for people to animate (3-5 sec. per month) and now I have a better idea. Just for this preliminary walk cycle it has taken me a week of playing with the poses to get it to this point. I have a new found respect for anybody that animates.
There has been a change in the story line (well, I actually have one now). Will be posting updates soon.
you could always use the sculpt tool to add to the realisticness of those thighs
study the anatomy of the thigh muscles of natural bodybuilders to get a general idea on the structure, I geuss
Here is a test walk cycle for the bear without the fur.
head of the bear should move/shake a little more, it looks a little static.
the caracter looks realy cool
I am still working on the overall movement of the bear, this test was for the paw and hip/shoulder movement. I already see that the legs sometimes lock and I will have to fix that along with adding head movement.
Here is another test with head movement. When it finishes rendering I will upload a test with the fur added.
Here is the walk test with fur.
I am working on camera movement and timing. Let me know what you think of the opening scene (it’s with the openGL).
Here is a rendered version of the opening scene. Please give me feedback so I can improve.
nice opening shot. Love the sweeping camera movement. One of the first negative things that jumps out at me is the trees are mostly uniform in height giving the impression the characters are walking past an orchard. Really like the two-toned grass too!
Thank you Drew99 for your input.
Here is the extended opening shot.
Looks good, but I don’t see any shadow, unless it’s OpenGL rendered. If so, can you please post some renders of it?
THANK YOU Apptux. This is actually rendered but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with how it looked. I guess very obvious now, but THANK YOU for helping me see it. I will have to figure out why my lamps are not producing shadows even though shadows are enabled, or I probably need to add lamps just for shadows.
Logo: You need to pull your key around a bit, adjust some of your curves. The motion is very… even, unnatural looking. Love the theme though.
A bear walking, might help with the motion. The boy on the bears back looks a bit wooden. He should shift and correct, maybe, with the bears motion?
The scene feels a bit flat… Maybe some more variety in the ground, some rocks and such? The trees are also very even. Maybe scale some up and down, rotate them around. Adjust the colours on the leaves between green, yellow and red?
from a cinematic point of view, I would insert a few close-ups. All your shots are wide shots. Since this is the opening of your movie, it would help introduce your characters. Also, it would clarify the boys action on the back of the bear. Is he yawning? The camera is so far away it is hard to tell.
Otherwise, I like where you are going with this. The shot of the ocean was a real surprise. Good stuff so far!
