I’m trying to figure out a way to animate the tick of a watch hand (the one that displays seconds). So it has to rotate, pause, rotate, pause etc… Is there some way I can keyframe a single ‘rotate, pause’ animation, then just duplicate/ repeat it?
yes…yes there is. You want a cycles modifier set on your single rotate/pause animation, and add ‘repeat with offset’ to both ‘before and after’ (current keyframe) options. You’ll find the F Curves in the Graph Editor window, and you pull up the Properties Panel in that window with the N hotkey. Be sure to select a point on the curve you want to add a modifier to before you bring up the properties panel, or you might not see the modifier button.
Worked like a charm, thanks Orinoco!
