Here I am testing out different ways of using noise textures to create a water surface with some volume scattering.
Basic one material water texture:

The aim was to get the water to look slightly murky, hence why I used volume scattering. The glossiness or reflectivity may have been set too high, otherwise the volume scattering effects could have been seen more clearly.
I will also test the subsurface scattering node in the future.
