Hi,
New project here: the WATERMILL !

Let’s start blocking some basic shape…

Any idea? Feel free to share your toughts! :upside_down_face:

A nice beginning. Small point: unless this is meant to be an undershot wheel, the bucket planks would be tilted upwards as seen from the front of the wheel, to form a bucket in which to dump and then discard the water. Go ahead and model the flume or the river.

Thank you sundialsvc4.
Yes, probably it will be an undershot wheel. :upside_down_face:

UPDATE: Added windows and more details to the roof. :upside_down_face:

Added the door and more details to the wheel.
Now I’m ready for materials and texturing. :upside_down_face:

The texturing of both the roof and the walls and the door are all quite believable. Keep it up.

I’d recommend putting a support of some sort on the other side of the wheel. Not all have one, but most do.
Looks pretty cool!

Thank you guys!
I don’t know… I’ve seen a lot of references and I feel I prefer without the support but… we will see, I’ll consider it.
Many thanks!! :+1: :grinning:

Ok, let’s start putting the watermill in the environment! :upside_down_face:
What else should I put into the scene?
Some trees? A small bridge? What else?

Usually water mills (and other mills) exist for a purpose. Is it there for electricity or grinding? In either case you need a service road and power lines if it’s built for electricity.

You are right! Thank you! :+1:

I think it’d be kinda cool with a stone bridge that goes across the river.

Added trees, a small wooden bridge, a bench, a table… and worked a bit on the terrain.
I feel I need something in the meadow on the right…

Looks much better!
I think it could use some rocks along the river’s edge and maybe some flowers or bushes.

I added vegetation, sacks of grain, some tools and flowers to the window. :upside_down_face:

Nice work. I saw this after starting on my own water mill project. And I’m looking to make a bridge as well - just seems to fit the scene.

Here we are at the end of the project! :checkered_flag::grinning:
Added more details, the water flowing from the wheel, a stool, a cat, a squirrel, birds and clouds.
Thanks for your suggestions! Really appreciated!
Hope you like it!
