Wave modifier + grass

Hello, I would like to create a cube or plane that is covered in grass. I would then like to apply the wave modifier to said object. So far I have tried the scatter addon to add grass to to cube but unfortunately this results in an incredibly janky and jerky creation. Would using hair solve the issue? The main issue with the hair modifier to create grass is that I want to have a big plane, I can work around this though. Are there any other options?

Choose from hair particles and geometry nodes.
