Ways to Do Rifling and Can Someone Redo This Rifling Help?

I don’t know if this is considered a full tutorial or just a very helpful post, but there’s this only one rifling help with full pics and help on this forum, but it was made in 2013 and all the image data was lost. I would like to see it done again. Or if there are any better tutorial/help, please post it here too! I’ve been modeling for small arms and cannons and would love the most efficient way to rifle. There’s unfortunately very little tutorials to do it around the web.

The forum post I was referencing is here: How to model rifling?

Fairy straight forward with the screw modifier.

Too busy to go into depth but the .blend file should be enough.RIFLING.blend (622.9 KB)

I know about that, but I was thinking the others with more efficiency. Thank you though!

Alternate methods…

Simple deform twist modifier on a sufficiently subdivided profile extrusion. (May need empty to define the axis if non-vertical.)

Sufficiently subdivided profile extrusion and using proportional edit mode while rotating one end.

Array object following path, edit the path and set tilt angle to a path endpoint, select all points on path and specials menu smooth curve tilt.

Bridging between two edge loop profiles in edit mode, and using the tool options to set number of cuts and twist values.
