WC #76 Dune: Fremen (UPDATED 26.11 more shots of Fremen)

I got full body ready for my little fremen. The overall body turned out little bit cartoonish, but I am pretty pleased. Arms are rigged, but I need to rig his hands, legs and rest of the body.

So, what do you think.

Here is my final version of this weekends WC, fremen warrior. I won’t be tweaking this scene any more, but I might use the character again.

Oh, and the sandtexture, I borrowed bumpmap image from Koudejongen’s sand worm thread.

Commets are welcome.

I like it. The face looks especially detailed. How did you make the hair?

Hair is made with method detailed by Landis in this thread:

Good method for making hair, it can produce even flexible hair with some tweaking.

Hippie,

I have been working on some ideas to improve the method…it can be found here:

Your dude is looking great by the way!

Cheers,
Landis

Uahhhhhhhhhh!
Looks like Eastwood! Nice work. Nice hairs. Big lips!

Thanks from the comments

Bone: Eastwood? At the WIP someone said, that he looks like Sting. :stuck_out_tongue: Likness not intended.

yup, he has thick lips. I now actually remeberd, that there was one actor in X-files for resambles my guy. He was one of the alien hunters.

Landis: I’ll chek your ideas ASAP. Darn good methdo.

Ye there was a guy in the X-Files, like him, but i cant remmeber his name.

I like the image just one crit. The skin texturedoesnt look very real. Infact i think the texture on the lips would be good for the skin texture then use a different texture for the lips.

Some more views of my little frmen. Just chek the first post.

Comments are welcome as always.

umm… i really like it, and couldnt do any better, but i dont really like his mantits

Excellent work Hippie. I’ve been looking at this model since it was in the WIP forum, and I must say the body actually adds a great deal to the over all effect. I don’t think the cartoonish look is a problem, in fact it goes well with the look of the face.

Even the face looks much better in the new shots, possibly because of the fish-eye effect in your initial image. There is really nothing major I can see that needs to be improved, although, it might help to have a subtle texture to the body (similar to the face) - so that the metallic effect on the body looks more natural and weathered.

Can’t wait to see this in motion. Best of luck with the rigging.
