Here is my entry for the Weekend Challenge #82 - Fountains
Unfortunately my computer was way to slow. I only have a PII 350 MHz. So it didn’t turn out as good as I wanted it to be. Three textures made with The Gimp. But very subtile.
The water material is really bad. But I hadn’t enough time to experiment with it more (Last render needed 82 Minutes).
Looks good Jerri,…I don’t know about those hedges though,…one thing you might try next time through,…steal a few leaves off an Lsystem tree, or just model a few leaves,…then duplivert them onto your hedge mesh. If you desire randomosity, city block generator/beast can do the job. ( can be obtained in Python and Plugins, but requires a full install of Python 2.2.x. )
Thanks Modron. I know, the hedges are really bad. But my computer had enough to do with it as it is. Unfortunately. I had something other in mind wenn creating this. It is way to dark. I wanted it overall to be a lot brighter. But ran out of time. Maybe I will work a little bit on it to improve it further. Later…
other then the fact that there r a lot more riples in the water then such little drops of water coming from the fountain gives i don’t see anything wrong with it…in fact i like it!!!
Modron, don’t know if this really helps. I think my sky is too dark. I wanted it to be a bright summer day. Maybe even with some glowing. But the first version of this models had to many faces and after 17 hours of rendering I stopped blender and had to rework all the meshes. No more time to improve my lightning. Nevertheless I like it. I am very thankful for the new knife tool. Most of the seahorse was extrude, knife and refine. Blender is such a cool tool.
btw: Only problem during creation of the seahorse. I did a concept-drawing and used it as a background-picture during modelling. But blender nearly crawls to a freeze if you use background-pictures. Can’t this be optimized somehow? Don’t know. Maybe I have to look into the code sometimes.
