Ok, here is the image I entered for the weekend challenge #62.
I think the way a calculator does what it does is amazing considering it’s made out of materials like plastic and metal. I tried to make that point with this. I put a lot of hours into this so I hope you all like it.
I Like it
But IMO it needs more depht. I have the same calculator and it is way thicker. And I think that background could me made less… umm… smth.
Anyhoo love the pic. Nice message, too
It does take to long to show-up, but it worth it ;).
I to find my self wondering how trivial accessories work, I mean have never wondered how a radio work or how holograms are being made?
It the simple things in life that makes it worthwhile 8) 8) 8)
I really like the idea but i would have to agree with Carnivore that it needs more depth, it looks kinda like a plane with a calculator surface on it at the moment, the buttons jsut dont seem to stick out at all. But great work all the same.
Thanks for the comments. I didn’t know png’s had a large file size. I’ll post a jpg when I can. And those buttons should hopefully have more depth. They are not flat at all. I don’t know why they look so flat :-?
The calculator looks OK butt it still lacks depth, the “inside” picture could be lighter. And do me a big favor don’t use these fractal psychedelic type backgrounds i personaly realy dislike them. Butt that’s just my opinion.
That was rushed because I had very little time to put in a background. I will probably make a scene for it. I’m not sure what scene to use yet though. Thanks for the c+c.
I think the flatness is less in the buttons and more in the case. An Illusion of a slight depression around each button using a bump map might work but it would take time to set up.
Thanks for the suggestions @ner and Modron. I’ll try what @ner said first.
Do you think the buttons still look flat or would you say it has more depth? It is hard to create shadows that stand out for the buttons because the case of the calculator is dark so the shadows dont show up well.
