Now I consider that the sci-fi genre has become too conservative. Not at all the case of the initial principles of sci fi, which was to free imagination from any technological restrictions, the guy knew what he was doing. The lesson for us now who are interested in sci-fi is to continue the legacy of Syd Mead and avoid becoming too restricted.
