This is my company’s logo. It works, for now, but I wonder if there is a better, smarter or more flexible way to make it, so it can be more easily used on the web. Note that it’s currently made of n-gons.
Right now I guess I would have to turn it into regular quads or tris. Other than that, I don’t know.
That’s a very good reconstruction, Okidoki, but I don’t understand what you did. I think you changed the ratio or the width of the strip… but other than that I don’t see a difference.
Basically currently the original is just a mess of ngon points, which is probably not very flexible and not at all clean, if I wanted to do something with the logo, for example deform it for an animation. What I am asking is what would be a better way to make such a model? I gave NURBS a try, but so far I haven’t figured out how I was supposed to make this shape with them. Or was that how made yours?
You can make such a precisely textured surface from curves? I thought it was only possible to make… well, lines. Maybe pipes and stuff that only goes along those lines. Are there any good resources you could suggest for me to learn from?
*Edit: okay, I realize it’s not “precisely” textured. I just had no idea you could give them any sort of colour properties aside from a single material.
This may sound silly but my knowledge is essentially from trying over the years and of course the docu https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/curves/index.html. Surfaces from curves doesn’t have UV coordinates so you have to do some mapping adjustments from object space… And the colorwheel is just a random found image.
