Web Plugin Test: PHASE 2: Sound and Animation

(Riskbreaker) #1

While not a completely new scene, there has been quite a few additions to this page.

Some things to take note of:

*I havent figured out how to change scenes in realtime so the animation will just repeat itself. In other words, I dont yet know how to effectively make that “Stop or Replay?” screen.

*Controls are same: arrow keys to look arround character, -+ to zoom

*I tried to keep the file under 1 meg, but i couldnt…I think its around 1.17meg.

*The soundtrack was originally somewhere like 15 minutes, but due to file size i had to edit it heavily down to 3:14 minutes.
Band: TOOL
Album: LATERALUS
Song: Reflections

What do you fellas think?

Ronin

uhm…the texture on the ninja is kinda… not there… also what is that spider thing that runs away? Really nice sound btw. I like it. I like the way you make his hair move.

He’s not actually not a ninja, he’s a ronin. And the textures…i suck at making textures…I could never get a good enough unwrapped map, so i just set a texture with the words “Test Texture” on each face just so it appears in realtime…anybody reading this should take note I am looking for someone who can texture this (and maybe others) for a possible online animation series.

also what is that spider thing that runs away

Yeah…I was trying to make something in the style of TOOL videos so I included some eye-balls mounted on a pentagon frame with two legs.

BTW: How was the green/blue/red fx that floats around him?

  1. cool, but I didn’t see the fx…
  2. you can go to another scene in realtime this way:
there’s a logicbrick called ‘Scene’ at ‘actuators’, use this and select ‘Set Scene’ and fill in the name of the scene you want to go to.
all the rest is like usual…

(Riskbreaker) #6

Are ya sure? Its right at the end (before the song loops)
I guess its not really a special fx, just some hovering glowing (well i like to think its glowing) pentagram-like thingies.

hmmm…set scene…i’ll try that one…

Thanx dude

please don’t use num-pad controls…people on a laptop can’t use them very well.

also, I don’t like how the camera always snaps back

Hey…
Make it alittle darker and texture it in the abstract and, it would hold it’s
own on one of the screens at there concert.
In my opinion Tool is one fo the greatest bands out there…
Great Work!!!

I’ve actually been to one of their concerts, it was freakin’ awesome. I kinda felt dissappointed (just the slightest) because they didnt play 46&2.
I think I’ve got a long way to go until my stuff is showcased in their concert but thanx for the compliment

They are, arent they.

Okay then…I guess I kinda forgot about those guys  Wont forget next time

also, I don’t like how the camera always snaps back.

Yeah, how do i fix that?
I set the camera’s brick Ob:Empty (positioned just at the character’s head) so that it would always look at the character, set Height: 5.00, Min: 19.00 used X and set Max: 20.00.
