Web Plugin...

(matthewsjc1) #1

Hello all,

 I've seen the web plugin being discussed but have never used it. Are there instructions somewhere about setting up the plugin to use on a webpage??? Thank you!

I cant find the page ATM. The blender3d site is getting on and has lost a lot of its usability. you can use the following code to get a .blend file in a site. This code only works for IE … there is an installer for firefox somewhere out there. I really should have got it when i saw it. Anyway heres the code for IE its changed from what i found in the tutorial which had the wrong location of the cab or plugin page or something i cant recall really.

<center>
  <object
  classid="clsid:5DB05CB8-7751-469D-A1DD-45C8C201C013"
  id=Blender3DPlugin
  width = 200
  height = 150
  codebase="http://download.blender.org/release/plugin/Blender3DPlugin.cab#Version=2,25,4,0">
  <param name="blenderURL" value="http://location/file.blend">
  <param name="loadingURL" value="">
  <param name="ForeColor" value=65280>
  <param name="BackColor" value=255>
  <param name="useFileBackColor" value=1>
  <param name="frameRate" value=20>

  <EMBED
    type="application/x-blender-plugin"
    PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Internet_Explorer.209.0.html"
    name="NPBlender"
    WIDTH=200
    HEIGHT=150
    SRC="http://location/file.blend"
    loadingURL=""
    ForeColor=65280
    BackColor=255
    useFileBackColor=1
    frameRate=20>
  </EMBED>
  </object>
</center>
</p>

CHANGE location TO your local folder where your testing or your webhost complete path to file.
CHANGE file TO your blender files name.

you can also edit the height and width, im testing with a 1mb uncompressed blend and at the above size it gives an acceptable speed on a 500mhz machine with a 32mb gfx card.

Another tip if uploading to a server use 2.25 and compress and sign the file it to save bandwidth and get rid of the logos…cheers Z.

Hope this helps,
