Weird camera view difference in different tabs?!

Hi folks,

Please take a look at the vid below.

In it, i start in the layout tab, then move over to the shading tab.

In both tabs, i have the camera view selected, and in both tabs the “lock camera to view” option is selected.

What i don’t understand is that wheni rotate in the layout view, the camera rotates around the cube, but in the shading tab, the same rotate action rotates the cube around the camera!

Any ideas why this might be happening?!

I’m probably just being an idiot, but i can’t work this out!

Thanks!

go to shading press ‘n’ in the viewport and look if your camera is locked to view

From your video It looks like both the Layout and Shading workspace views are moving like they are ‘locked to camera view’.

It’s just that the Layout camera view is moving as if the cube was the origin (or the focus), whereas the Shading camera view is moving as if the camera itself is the origin of its own movement.

It might have something to do with the camera being selected as the active object in the Outliner when you are moving it in the Shading viewport?

Thanks guys, i think it might have been a bug as i had booth views locked to camera. I did a zoom out then zoom in again, and then both views starting acting the same!
