weird effects during modeling

I have had blender installed on my pc before with no problems during modeling…

but recently a funny thing has come up with 2.7+ versions…

once installed, if the model i am working on is textured or shaded or just in solid mode and i press any key to modify the model, ie (g) or ® etc keys the screen in the 3d window goes black and very faint redish outlines of the model are present…once set the screen returns to normal and happy blending…

if i am in wire frame mode it doesnt do this, why is it doing this?

wire frame is nice but i like to see how it affects the surface not just the wires and this black screen things is making it longer to blend :frowning:

all video drivers as known are up to date, along with bios and unified drivers etc…the pc is a clean lean freak machine

sounds like an OpenGL issue, but if you have updated all drivers as you say, then i’m stumped.

hmmm opengl that could be it, but doesnt the nvidia driver 7X.XX release come with a opengl driver already in it?

if not link where i can get one? nvidia sight didnt seem to have what i was looking for

weird thing happened, installed 5X.XX version of nvidia restarted pc, still went buggy…

then i turned around and installed 7X.XX version and turned off all my nice anittropic filtering etc and made it application controlled and it works bug fixed…

funny thing is i already had 7X.XX installed, must have been a bad install or another program messed with it…

thanx for your opengl input

did you turn off antialiasing?

antialiasing causes several weird glitches in blender, this is the first time I heard of a glitch when in grab mode though…
