Weird hole when selecting object in x-ray mode

Hello! It’s nice to join a forum about Blender, especially as I start my journey.

So as you might have guessed, I am new to Blender, so bare with me if this is a silly mistake. I was trying to make a simple head and accidently made a mistake. I only realised later on so I couldn’t undo enough times for it to reset completely.

Which means I had to delete my changes and just fix the gaps. I deleted the added vertices, which caused a gap in the object itself. I then filled it with the grid fill tool.

At face value, it works. Looks fine. But it bothers me that when I go on X-ray mode, this is what I see:

As you can see, the holes are visible when I’m on X-ray mode. But it looks normal outside of it, perfectly fine. So this is rather miniscule but it does bother me.

I’m very new to Blender, but I’ve tried recalculating the orientation of the faces and that doesn’t seem to do anything. I’m also tried to join them like they were two different objects but no luck, since it’s on the same object.

This has made it weird for UV unwrapping as it now makes that section into a different plane for some reason. Any help would be appreciated friends! :hugs:

Hi!
I would suspect that this areas got separated from each other… somehow.
Try selecting everything, then go Mesh > Merge > By Distance (hotkey: M > By Distance).

Oh my GOD! You are a life saver! Much appreciated, it worked like wonder :raised_hands:
