weird red faces

Lemme start by saying a big thanks to whomever worked in the PSD support. So far it works better than the same in Maya PLE. I could buy you a beer.

I UV-unwrapped a character I’m working on and for the most part everything went perfectly. However, one set of connected faces seem to have this need to stay red, despite whatever color is on the texture. (You can see the cork on the bottle is lighter, as on the original.) This is a definite tinting of the base color and I can’t for the life of me figure out what I hit that’s doing this. Anyone experienced this before?

Thanks in advance,

By the looks of it, I’d say the model has red vertex paint on it. In UV Face select mode, go to editing (F9) and texture face panel. At the bottom of it you’ll see a colour picker and Set VertCol button. Simply select all of the faces, pick a white colour and press the mentioned button.

I had this same problem, except my color was black. Not sure how it happens, but I just pushed the Vcol button like Lamoot has suggested and it changed back to my texture.
It has never happened before, so maybe it is somthing messing us up in the new version?

Cheers for that – it worked! Yeah, I’ve never had this happen to me before. There were a great many changes between 2.41 and 2.42, so I assumed that I hit something wrong, but I have no idea what.

Now it’s clear, so thanks again!
