I am getting some weird renders, the whole image is one colour. I have had the problem before but i thought i had taken care of it, maybe i didnt but it has been working perfectly for months and i have rendered a high number of images. So i dont understand why it should simply come back, i believe its a setting causing this but i am not sure. I am rendering with my gpu which is a amd radeon r9 200 series.
A few thing worth noticing is that the quick render in the 3d wiev works properly, and blender files older than the isue stil renders perfectly.
Does it render on cpu
Are you using material settings that are not supported by OpenCL rendering
Have you hinder but renderable object in your scene (outliner)
Why have you not supplied an adequate level of information?
Where is your blend file to review ?
I am sorry but at the time i wrote this i couldnt figure out how to add the blend file.
To the other questions, i did say i was rendering on gpu. I also said what kind of graphic card i had.
There is no visible object in front of the model, nothing in the outlioner that is hidden from wiev but not restricted from rendering. I belive that was what you were asking?
If i have used materials not suported by openGL i wouldnt know, but i have not done anything that i havent done in other files that works. At least not with materials. I also removed all materials replacing them with difuse shaders, it didnt help.
I also tried tio recover the factory settings, that didnt help either. I hope i have suplied all the information now, if not please say.
So far this has happend on three blender files, this one is the only one i have saved though.
It was just a test render, and the model was only a test as well. But you are correct, the plane only has a material and a colour. Like i said, ive had the same problem before. Not sure how i fixed it back then but i did so there is a way. The image i added in this reply was rendered a few hours ago, after the isue ocured. But now the old files doesnt render properly anymore either…
try another blender version: http://download.blender.org/release/
download the ZIP version if on windows, if your not sure about 64 bit, then choose 32
in the attached blend:
your normal map is all wrong. use the FAC on textures used for bump maps and mixes/FAC, and your NORMAL is plugged into your IOR (purple into purple ONLY). ive never found the need to mess with the distance on bumps either.
for GPU rendering, 256x256 tile size works well for me. its been said GPU=bigger, CPU=small tile sizes. but always a power of 2.
I have tried all the tips given with no sucess. I think there is a compatibility isue with my graphic cards that is causing it, so i have decided to get a nvidia card with cuda and pascal.
Is there simeway i can mark the thread solved?
