Came back to Blender (v 3.1.2) after a long pause.
Never recall these artifacts happening in older Blender versions. In edit mode those edges are not creased or anything.
Any ideas what’s going on?
I did notice the Mirror modifier glitching crazy, but I hope this issue is unrelated and can be fixed.

Try “Clear Custom Split Normals Data”- it’s in the properties somewhere, you can F3 and search it I think
Also after editing or applying modifiers, you may have to set smooth shade again (object mode - right click - smooth shade). I have had that problem where after changes, parts of the mesh “forget” there is smooth shade and I have to reset it.
