Weird shading on mesh

Hi, I keep getting this weird shading on my meshes. cant seem to figure out the issue, I tried many different ways to get rid of this but it doesnt go away. tried shading auto smooth, checked the face orientation, overlapping vertices etc, everything looks good but this only goes away when I add a subsurface modifier.

…using lesser topology and a simple edge split modifier…
