I am not sure what the hell is that artifact.
Do you also get the artifact when you
- leave out the rgb curve node and
- activate clamp on every single node?
I connected the viewer node to the combined pass (no post processing) and I get the artifact …so the raw file shows that.
I’ve had a similar thing - seems like it’s to do with volumetrics/DoF and it’s random whether it happens or not. Unfortunately the only fix I found was to re-render and overwrite those single frames
Thank you …I will do that.
mmmm did not work!
I get the same artifact
Interesting, maybe something changed since I last had the issue.
There is this setting here in the render settings tab:

which I seem to recall being mentioned regarding a similar issue (it might have even been me that posted asking for help) so maybe experiment with that?
Hopefully you find a solution.
Bloom produces a similar effect…tried disabling it?
The problem with this solution is that i can not see the artifacts in the viewport…
only when it renders…it is a bit tedious…I just realize my animation is full of those spots…
yes…but then…how do i make the bloom…
In the compositor: Filter->Glare, set to “Fog Glow”. Use multiple instances in series for a stronger effect
Just to check, was it on the exact same frame? ie if image_003.png has the bright spot, going to frame 3 and hitting f12 to render a single image has the same spot?
I am having a similar issue. One single frame out of my 300 frame animation has a bright spot in it, but none of the other frames have the same problem. The spot does not show up in the viewport, nor are there any reasons for the light to be there (no lights at that brightness in that area). Just posting to see if a solution had been achieved, or if I could piggyback off of the initial post and hopefully get my similar issue resolved.
Thank you!
