weird strand distribution issue

Hello everyone,

I am having a strange problem with a strand distribution on the mesh. After modeling an semi high poly mesh, I get this weird twisting that creates problems later on in combing and styling of hair.

Since I am relativley new at hair system, I was wondering is this normal or am I doing something wrong. Or is it a bug?

Have you enabled advanced -> use modifier stack? if not then subsurf may be causing the issue, just turn on use modifier stack.

Alternatively it may be something in the children clump settings.

If its not either of these then can you post either images of your particle settings or a .blend?
