blender newbie here, 3D Max convert.
was wondering how to weld certain verticies together to make them a single vertecie.
any tutortials on this?

select the two vertices- maybe size them together- go to the edit buttons and on the right there is a remdoubles button. Bring the counter under that up to 1 (whatever). then click remdoubles .
to avoid having to change the remove doubles value, just size the verts to zero, (size with s, hold ctrl and move towards the centre of the two verts till they seem to become one) then you can just hit remove doubles as it is.
I think you can alson press KEY[w] and a menu will appear that will alow you to remdoubles with the current settings in the edit buttons.
