What are the best options for making a cup appear to have something in?

So i know there is Fluid and Fluid Particles but are there any other quicker simpler options for making a cup appear to have say… milkshake or smoothie in it?

Doesn’t have to be anything special really as its not a focus point of my larger scene but it would be nice for it to seem somewhat realistic.

Was going to do it with particles, but was curious to see if anyone had any other quicker methods.

Its for a static image, no animation or anything.

Thanks.

with cycles just add a transparent material inside the cup !

happy bl

Are you talking about a side view or a top view? For side view, a cheap way you could do it would be to duplicate the inner faces of the cup into a new object, and add a glossy/transparent material to it (and don’t forget to flip the normals).

you can also check this tutorial on the subject  (around 11 min for “the liquid inside”):

Thanks for the ideas guys.
How about if it were a glass?
