Hey, I’m looking to buy an HD tv and I found one I think looks good for my price range. Just wanted a second opinion on it. I’m not gona spend anything more than $500 so this one looked about right for what I want (a TV to put in my room).
You can’t really go wrong with an LG. I recently purchased a TV for my room (panasonic HD 1080p 42") although $700 might be out of your budget. What I found out when browsing is that if you can get an LG 32 (just an example) for $400 you can get a lower brand (such as panasonic) 36" for $400. Although if you want a top of the line TV go with an LG or sony.
Just don’t settle with a 720 tv, I know that’s not what you linked to, just giving you a warning. Also I would stay away from vizios.
lol most TV are at 60, 3DTV’s uses two 60’s to make 120hz
theres nothing wrong with 60hz you want PC monitors a bit higher but TVs are fine with 60hz
anyway at original poster, I recommend saving up for a 42inch LED there’s a massive difference between the two you can’t beat the black levels that you get from LED TV’s
Yeah. LED’s cost an arm and a leg more. I have a 55" LG LED in my living room and the picture quality is incredible. It’s also about 5 times the price of my LCD. I have a 60Hz and it’s fine. There’s not a whole lot of difference between 60 and 120 (but if you look closely you can notice a difference.) Anything over 120 you will not notice, they just like to say 500Hz refresh rate! Just cause it’s a big number.
edit: that’s a 60 Hz on my 42" LCD. The LED has a 120.
Ya, I’m pretty sure I’m gona have to stick with an LCD. Everything else is just sooo expensive
From my understanding one of the biggest problems with LCD is the viewing angle and I don’t plan on having more than 3 people watching it at once anyways so that shouldn’t really be a problem for my setup.
There is a lot of wrong with 60hz and I can see it all. Not only that I have a perfect vision(20/20) I also work in the field and see different TVs all the time.
A lot of Samsungs in my opinion have the best picture out there.
I prefer a Samsung because as my experience Samsung somehow is much better than LG in mobiphone field, monitor…
I think a Samsung or Sony will work better!
Go to the stores and see how you like the images. And after Thanksgiving, prices are dropping. I bet you can do better price-wise. Definitely look for the 1080p.
well you could spot flaws in just about anything if you are around it long enough, most people just want a TV for general use and 32-42 inch at 60hz is just fine. you can make the jump to LED if you want the extra quality but I do agree the samsungs are very good TV, but LG are usally cheaper with not a big difference in quality.
Ya, I thought of that the other day and now thats what I’m planning on doing I’ve shopping on Black Friday the last two years so I think I have a pretty good idea of what to expect… the worst part is getting up at like four in the morning lol :o
