Is it gonna be someday in trunk? We need something like this, or at least the implementation of apricot with colors.
I would have to agree…when I only am working with 2 layers, the current way is probably faster than a named layers scenario. However, when I get up to using 7 or 8 layers ( or more), I can never remember which is which. Even if the name were shown via the hover-over-pop-up-thing.
