Does anyone know what happened to the NURBANA integration into Blender…?

I’d like to know as well, NURBS would be very cool for industrial designers.
The sourcecodes of NURBANA have been released under the GNU/GPL, the end goal would be to integrate its source code into Blender, however someone need to actually do the work! which besides being alot of work, isn’t very easy either.
I don’t think anyone has actually started with this yet.
