What is the key-combination to perform and edgeloopselect. I know that in blender v2.37a it was alt+b, but now that doesn’t seem to work. Can anyone help me out?

afaik, it’s gone.
Ctrl-Alt-RMB to select two edges (i.e. old way of selecting edge loops). Alt-RMB to select one edge. (Note, you do not need to have anything selected prior. Just click on the edge.) For better instructions look Here.
ok thanks, it’s not as good as the good old alt+b but it will do.
