What is happening to Blender with 2.8 release ? from everyday user perspective... and more

Well, I have to eat my words…I decided to make the leap, or at least try,
to bond with the new 2.8 GUI/workflow, especially since I found these
cool tutorials. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ducky+3d

I haven’t used Blender in a while, and not sure if my addons for 2.79
still work, but if an addon doesn’t work in 2.8, and won’t be updated,
can still use 2.79.

Learning curves are never fun, at least for me, but 2.8 looks like
it will be worth it.

2.5+ was! :+1:

When I hop back into 2.79 to do something I can’t yet do in 2.8 it feels so prehistoric and unfamiliar to me now - Alt+A to play the timeline?

For those who are in the transition process from Blender 2.79 to 2.8:

Have a look at this blog post I wrote a while ago. It might come in handy.

Bless you, Metin_Seven!

That looks very helpful.

I will print it out, and study it. :+1::smiley::+1:

Call me a wuss, but I decided to go back to 2.79b.

I went through basic 2.8 tuts & Metin’s excellent tips, but found
it was just too much to learn…not just trying to find where all the
things that I use have been put, but all the new bells
& whistles I’ll probably never use.

Wish there was a Blender 2.8 Lite, or some way to disable or hide
all the esoteric functions.

I’ll try disabling all the addons I don’t or won’t ever use, and see if
it helps.

But will probably just be happy to play in the 2.79b sandbox
with all my toys (addons).

ps- to all who slog on, and learn to love 2.8+,
I wish you all the best, and will look forward to seeing
your amazing creations.
Two of my greatest achievements are to have climbed Mt.Whitney,
and to learn, use, & love Blender.:+1:
