What is the best (free/Open Source) alternative to CrazyBump?

I am looking for a free, preferably open source, highly regarded and respected software (like Blender) designed for making normal maps, specular maps and height maps (displacement maps).

It MUST run on Windows 10!

Any ideas? I know there is a couple of software designed for this purpose, but I am looking for the best software so far.

Awesome Bump I suppose?

I don’t know if it is the best, but try AwesomeBump. I believe it has a Windows version.

But it only says Win7. No mention of win10.
EDIT: Runs fine on Win10.

Thanks!

Generally speaking, I won’t upload anything to 3rd party websites that is not final renders, and which I can remove again.

I want a standalone desktop version of the software I use.

AND…I don’t get it, does it have to specifically say runs on Windows 10 before you are happy. I am wondering because a lot of Windows 7 programs run fine on Windows 10 this been one of them, I use it fine in windows 10.

Moved from “General Forums > Blender and CG Discussions” to “Support > Other Software”

I tried em all, but now I am mainly doing it all through Blender and just baking it out from there if I need it elsewhere. You’d be surprised what you can do with Cycles material and compositing nodes

i use Knald for this, is not free but really good

I learned that I can download the code and run it locally so nothing gets uploaded to the internet. Let me know if it helps you. Thank you

You can use PixaFlux for creating all PBR maps from any source (images, 3D models, bezier splines, …).
