What is the best way to add an object made out of multiple parts as one object to asset browser?

Hi guys,

I have a bunch of objects parented under an empty but I could not find a way to duplicate that empty and also duplicate the objects parented under it or to add that empty to the asset library with all the objects under it.

When I try to duplicate or mark it as asset it only duplicates the empty without any of the objects under. What is the proper way of adding an object made out of multiple objects as one object to the asset library? (I do not want to join the geo together, I want it to be separate objects still).

Thanks so much for any help!

Select the empty and then in outliner right click → select hierarchy and Ctrl-D…

Alternately, to select all children of a parent (empty or something else), you can use the “Select Grouped” menu > Children item (ctrl + G). Then you will have to shift select the parent too the first time, but click the extend checkbox in the panel on the bottom left (do this once it will be memorized for next time).
