What is the best way to build a face ?

So far I build faces by selecting 3 or 4 vertices abd then press F or Shif F. However the tutorial writers always give the impression that it is not the best way to build a face.

That is the best way, but it depends what you want to do really. You can extrude an edge but then it doesn’t connect to the face next to it.


its normally best not to have the position where you need to be joining up faces (although I always end up doing it!) planing roughly how your going to model somthing can help with this. As to any other methods of making faces, I don’t know of any. I was thinking of some sort of python script that could do what shift-f does but without the tri’s. Don’t know python tho :smiley:
