Loop Cut in C4D seems to work just fine on the triangle fan cap of cylinders.
Luckily the Knife tool with midpoint snap activated allows you to click the first edge and the last edge to get a quick loop cut in this situation.
The knife tool does not have Adjust Last Operation.
Is the Enter key the only way to finish using the knife tool?
Get the Key Ops Toolkit. Connect command, slide it.

No. It’s enough work to remember Blender’s default UI, tools, and command locations already.
use subdivide instead of loop cut in this case, problem solved… also there a operator called cut faces which is similar to connect for same thing…

is cut faces inside of an addon?
afaik “cut faces” are operator from some addon (afaik preinstalled, but not enabled by default)
