ok that may be a hard topic to search correctly for.

Most modeling is done by:
box modeling
vertice by vertice/face by face
curves

And to be honest, generally it is a combination of all of the above. When finding your modeling technique, try all the methods, use the one that works the best for you. You will also find that some things work better with some methods than others. It is a trial and error situation.

I think he means style as in graphical style. Photorealistic, Chibi, Cartoony, Animé style. Mine is a combination of the last 2 as it is nice and simple.
