I am making a jet fighter combat movie that follows the story of Lieutenant Thompson as he rise to the ranks as a Navy Fighter Pilot.

The Air Force has Fighter Pilots. The Navy has Aviators. Officers rise through the ranks, not to the ranks. Perfect music depends on the mood you want to set. If it’s just generic military, almost anything by John Phillip Souza will do. For generic sunset, something romantic by Debussy.

Triumphant trumpet, if it’s near the end of the movie, a little more melancholy would work for the beginning to midway, anything else (depending on mood), deep strings.
