What system are you developing on? (Post your computer specs)

I’m rather interested to hear what computer systems people are developing games for BGE on. So post some information about the system.

I’ll start:
My main computer is a 2013 Lenovo Yoga S1. It is a laptop with:

  • i5-4200 processor
  • 4gb of ram
  • integrated (intel HD) GPU
  • I run Arch Linux. I do have windows installed, but haven’t booted to it in a very long time.

I have it connected to an external display.
Another major component of my development pipeline is a pad of paper, which sits to the left, ready for drawing diagrams at a moments notice. Interesting ideas go on post-it-notes on the wall.

Here’s a picture:

So, where do you develop games from? What are your computer specs?

Desktop
i5 760 oc to 3.1GHz, GTX 460 1.5GB, 16GB ram, 1TB HDD and 128GB SSD, two displays 21.5", Windows 10

Laptop
Asus x550c 12 GB ram, windows 10 integrated graphics

My “workstation”

As you can probably tell, my laptop is pretty old. Also the battery died a while ago and is now on life support (has to be plugged in constantly)
You also may have noticed dead-center of the screen, a whole bunch of dead pixels. Makes using Blender hell, imagine trying to select a vertex when you can’t see anything. It’s TERRIBLE!

And of course, the ‘breathtaking’ specs

Maybe one day I’ll drop the cash on a more modern machine… but until that day comes, I’ll just have to deal with the migraines that come with using this one!

My signature, read it.

What is more:

  • CPU: in signature:)
  • GPU: the one in signature:(
  • RAM: in signature
  • internet connection: air:(, ~10 MBps actuall connection usually, mostly 2 MBps download)
  • Benq 1080p(fullHD) LED screen
  • Linux Ubuntu 15.10

intel i7 3.50 GHz
msi gtx 970 gaming
16gb RAM
3x 500gb HDD
1x 250gb SSD (samsung 850 evo)
1x 22" LG monitor
Windows 10.

I showed this during the competition.
Also I recently replaced the hard drive and it changed the year from mid 2011 to mid 2010.
Truly I do not know what most of this means, but my computer usually gets the job done, so I am happy with it.

Ok here are mine:

Intel i5-2400 3.10 GHz
GeForce GTX 970
12 gb RAM
Windows 7

It´s interesting that there seem to be the laptop people and the high end desktop pc people, but until now no one really in between

Lovely specs… Really good computer.

blenderrendersky god a nice one aswell:)

And I am still complaining here about bad PC…

I’m jealous - I only get ~100 KBS when I try to download something…

My computer is high end desktop?

edit: if your wondering my download speed is 64 Mbps

HP 15" Laptop

My graphics card melted last summer and they sent me a better one for some reason as a replacement.
Apparently I have slow hard disk access which brings down all the other scores from 7-9 to about a 6.

I could do with some more RAM one of these days too but I’ll probably just wait until the computer dies and get a better one.

Smoking_mirror, nice rig, except the RAM:D

I use a 4 y.o. HP Pavilion Dv6 laptop with a broken screen:

  • Intel Core i3 CPU
  • RAM (4GB)
  • Bloody Intel HD Graphics “GPU” (With partial support to OpenGL 3.3)
  • Sony BRAVIA KDL-22EX425 21" TV
  • Microsoft Windows 10 x64 OS

Oh, and 5Mbps internet ^^

I have a alienware alpha

except mine came with a slower hard drive (they must have fixed that in recent builds)

When I had windows 7 without a SSD I also got a rating of 5.9 just because of the speed of a HDD… That totally doesn’t make any sense because a slow HDD won’t slow down your gpu or whatever itself…

But why not buy more RAM and when your computer dies, build a new one, and use the good parts of your current computer.
