I am going to buy a tablet, but I don’t know what kind to buy. There are three that I have seen where I live: A Wacom Graphire4, an XP-Pen XP-5560a, and a Flaire II GT504. Which one would be the best buy?

Pick the one you like the most. It’s for you after all. Wacom is the most popular option of those as far as I know.
A note: ‘Genius’ tablets will have problems with Blender in Windows.

I’ve used several models of Wacom and always been very satisfied. No experience with any other brands though.
I use a Wacom Intuos3 6x8 pad. I have no problems with is what-so-ever. Based on y experience with the intuos3, I recommend it.

To be honest there’s only one real choice, Wacom gear may be pricey but it’s also the best. I’ve tried cut price tablets before and they’ve been inaccurate and prone to interference, and if that wasn’t bad enough they have had styluses that run on batteries, or even worse, are wired directly to the pad.
You can get an intuos3 6x8 for only like 278 USD. Any bigger than a 6x8 is generally thought to be too big. I have a 6x8 I got last year, and I use it for everything.
I have been using tablets now for the past 5 years and have tried a few different brands and models and without dout Wacom is by far the best brand. With that said I’ve used the graphire 6x8 for some time and thought I was in heaven but then the intous 3 came out at the time so I got one at the same size and fell in love, now I cant even pick up a graphire. The texture of the pad and the pen cushion and weight were very comforatable. I carry this thing with my laptop everywhere. I advise you to shell out the extra bucks for intuous, well worth it.
I bought a cheapo tiny wacom a couple months ago
It was only $40.- and works absolutely fine… I wouldn’t spend too much on a “first time tablet”… it could be a costly mistake.

Go with wacom graphire or intuos, atleast my volito2 has crappy pen that gives only 30% pressure scale, its really hard to draw smooth lines if you have to push pen into tablet with full force. 
I’m going to buy intuos next.
Wacom intuos3. The best deal I have ever made. I never ever want to work with any other tablet. With my graphic pencil I can work quicker than with any mouse on this planet.
Wacom Graphires – just great. I have a Genius tablet at work, and the pen is more bulky and it does require a battery, but other than that, it seems to provide pretty much the same functionality as the Graphire.
What I love about Wacom is the battery-less wireless. It’s just… that’s the way tablet pens were supposed to work, you know?
