I keep hearing about procedural textures texturing mapping lighting placing and jumping through hoops! what is PROCEDURAL supposed to mean in all of this? drivin me NUTS! :<
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
it’s simply the texture that are inside blender…Cloud, Marble, Wood, Blend etc… lol
I knew it, I knew it all along but I wasn’t sure, but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but but (yes this is all hand typed) but all this friggen time! ACKKKKKK!!! :x oh man
actually, procedural means made from a procedure. Basicly, it means everything that is generate mathematicly (lke the textures in Blender or the plugins).

oo thanks for tellin me
Plus, the texzure ‘soaks’ into the material. Meaning that it´s truly 3d inside the object. (This is not from me)
- When you cut out a block, the tex still looks right
- You can set an IPO for the texture in 3 dimensions to create cool effects.
If you push a stucci texture upwards through a plane and use it as bump, you achieve pretty neat water effects.
