what the!!! please help with uv mapping errors. [resolved]

hello
something is going relly wierd with the uv mapping im doing at the moment::o
and its gonna be hard for me to explain. if you need any pictures to help me describe to you just say.
first im making a guitar and now im trying to texture it. i know how to uv texture and all but i think this is a bug or something.
while i was unwrapping the main body part of the guitar some faces didnt even show the part of the texture they were mapped to and instead showed a squashed looking texture that looked like a triangle. ???
so i thought maybe some kind of thing wrong with that part of the model… so i remade it the way i thought would work better. put seams and everything and press unwrap. now when i try to move the uvs around so it would fit more efficiantly and to be easier for me to texture… half of the uvs delete them selfs and i end up with a uv map with a hole in every single place and the textured model looks ok. EXCEPT for the hundreds of faces that have nothing but white on them because those faces have deleted themselves out of the uv map???:eek:

WHAT THE !!! please help:o:(

what version of blender are you using?

“”“If your using 2.46 it could be one of the todo items. (Preserve image aspect option messes up with pinned UV’s - Campbell/Brecht)”""

Can you upload a blend file?
