What would be the most powerful laptop for blender now?

Im considering getting a laptop for blender. On my desktop im used to a amd 3900x 12 core, 64 gigs of ram, and 3900 rtx with 24 gig vram. I tend to use about 10-12 gigs of vram often. Are there laptops with similar power now, my computer is like 4 years old and works great with linux. I remember old laptops only got 3 hours of battery wtih gpu cards. Love using cycles for real time checks of my shaders.

I was checking out the macbook pro 14. Not sure if that is capable or not. Or a windows 11 or linux laptop would be better.

but the prices are high.

Are they a lot faster than the macs? I assume a suped up laptop is going to suck with battery life. My old sager where like 2 hours max and weighed 10 lbs. Granted this was like 20 years ago.

I’m not an Apple fan generally, but I can’t deny they’ve got laptops figured out. They’re quiet, powerful, they don’t break no matter how times you drop them on a hard floor (speaking from experience), they last for a decade or more (also speaking from experience)… I would be hard pressed to recommend any laptop other than a MacBook

I dont usually drop them. Thats what cell phones are for! But I did manage to blow up a laptop when I was modelling in a sculpture studio that was filled with dust and clay particles. CPU fans don’t like it much! Was shooting steam out and beeping like crazy!

I suppose MacBook Pro is faster and lighter if you are comfortable with the OS.

Im used to linux. So either windows or apple are probably going to drive me crazy in some aspect. With mac there is a choice of m3 pro and m3 max. And probably by the time I have the money the m4 will be out. Which would you go with?
