Whats a good video series to watch????

Okay so I’ve been sitting at home, and I’ve been thinking I read through beginning blender, about half way through with it, I want to invest in a DVD on it.

What would be a good one???

blender cookie?? 30 bucks for part 1 and 60 bucks for part 2
cg masters is 60 bucks

I’ve seen others but most are around 40-60 dollars for stuff on blender, I know there is no be all end all I just kinda want something to give me a good look at char modeling, and some basic stuff on modeling. Sorry about not being too specific, just kinda moving over from 3ds max, since we don’t have maya at school.

I would watch online tutorials but theres way to many, and I can get more done at the house, besides I don’t think I should have to sit for 40 mins and watch someone model a spoon.

I purchased both of these sets and I would say if yu are a beginner start with the CG Cookie set. They are both VERY good sets but the set from CG Masters is more for intermediate to advanced and moves at a much quicker pace with less step by step instruction.

nvm, I just did some research on the subject, found another thread that asked this same question, I might just order the one from blender newbies…

after that just sit through patiently all the vid tutorials out there…

later

try the tufts corse. http://gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html

I hear the cmiVFX stuff by Sebastian Konig are pretty good - they are maybe a bit expensive compared to other Blender Training DVD’s, but are on par with Gnomon Workshop stuff:

Unwrapping/Baking:http://www.cmivfx.com/tutorials/view/205/Blender+Unwrapping+and+Baking
Texturing:http://www.cmivfx.com/tutorials/view/206/Blender+Texturing
Shading/Fur:http://www.cmivfx.com/tutorials/view/209/Blender+Shading+and+Fur

Yea after checking this I’m gonna go with cg cookie set 1, I just need to have patience to sit through it all. I have a pretty decent understanding of modeling in 3ds max, but somethings are way different from max.

And I like those other links mentioned.

@LiquidApe Do you know if those are for beginners?

youtube?

They’re fantastic.

I recently purchased the compositing series and it’s over 5 hours of video for $49.99 and 2.5 gigs of project files.

He’s an excellent teacher as well and really explains in depth what’s going on.
