What's easiest way to "paint" a curve on a landscape mesh?

I tried grease pencil but it doesn’t work on anything more than 300 m in size. It paints nothing basically. Annotate tool works perfectly but only in ortho mode. Still fine. Is there a way to turn annotate lines into curves like grease pencil object? Connect them together while drawing?

The Bsurfaces GLP edition addon lets you convert annotations to curves.

You can the convert from curve to grease pencil if you want in the object menu.

The curves themselves do have a draw tool included in them.

Thanks guys. I forgot about curve “draw” tool. Wish “curve pen” could stick to surface. it’s most convenient one otherwise since could continue from selected point and could change node type on the fly . Tried snap mode with curve pen. Not working. Will try this Bsurface addon. Looks like it has automatic join /automerge option.

I’m not very familiar with the (new) grease pencil (old now annotate tool :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: )… but :

Shouldn’t/couldn’t the pixel size and/or stroke thickness be increased ??

Yeah, I found this too but it looks like 5000px is the max possible size and on landscape kind of scale is still tiny non-existent.

Nothing in Blender works at this scale- at huge scale, you’ll start to get floating point precision errors that will cause all kinds of undesirable glitches. You might not be quite at that scale, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re close. You’ll have much better luck scaling everything down

Thanks Joseph. It’s a good thing to understand and keep in mind.
