What's the best video format to Render hight quality textures?

Hello, guys

I’ve made a video with 42 seconds that has 2,27 Gb of size in “Avi Raw” format.

My media player can’t play it :S

Any tip or video player software I can use?

Thnx

When it comes to viedo player vlc is usually the most reliable. I use to think that if vlc can’t play it, no one can. (except for blu-rays)

First of all I would try to convert it in a smaller video file, i.e. using mpeg4 or similar, in case your problem is due to your pc memory only.

thank you

I find the Xvid codex that comes with blender is fine. Should make a 42 second video well under 10mb, provided it isn’t 1080p

When a video can’t play, try VLC player, Windows Media Player, and Quicktime. You will find that there are formats that only one of the above will play.

If you need to convert your videos to a smaller format, you could of course use Blender, but sometimes I use two other programs that specialize in transcoding.

The first program is AKMEFFMPEG. It is a very simple interface and very quick. Get it at sourceforge.net.

The second one is mediacoder. It is free. It can do just about everything including convert multiple files in a batch. It is a huge pain in the ass to learn though and everytime you start it, it loads up your browser and goes to its home page. He is trying to get ad revenue because this is free software. Once you get mediacoder to work, it is a dream come true. Please let me know if you would like me to walk you through it’s setup the first time.
