So recently I have been trying to 3D model the Iron Man armor. In most of the videos I see online, most people just seem to get a reference image and start poly modeling the armor. I’ve tried this too and have had decent success, but sometimes I wonder, what if I hard surface sculpted this instead?
Has anyone ever tried this or does anyone recommend it? Something like the Iron Man armor is complicated and has a lot of details, and sometimes poly modeling all of it feels really tedious. I feel like 3D sculpting it would give me a better feel and more control, and I can just retopologize it after.
Also, I feel like a sculpting workflow would allow me to add smaller details like dents and chips to the metal easier.
Would anyone recommend a method like this?
