Well, let me explain more. The texture is fine with me, just some more tweaking. But it’s no the texture, but the texture mapping. It is not seamless when I map it with cube mapping, on objects other than a perfect cube. I. e. It has giant seams going through it. The bed example itsn’t exactly the best.
Even when I map a texture as a sphere map on a sphere, it doesn’t look quite right.
First a little correction; UVMapping has nothing to do with Materials.
Second, this is why LSCM is so much of an improvement over the projected mapping options. You can split your blanket into Islands with Seams and then manipulate each Island as a block to line up with their neighbours and pin those seams down while you tweak the island you’re working on.
Anyhow, you can still select faces in the UV Editor (with let’s say Cube Mapping) and move them to line up properly. In the UV Editor click the Lock in the header and in the 3D Window set it to Potato mode (Alt-Z) while in UVFace mode (F) and you will see the the texture update in realtime while you move them in the UV Editor so you can put them exactly where you want them.
