Hi, I am a beginner. I am trying to create a Lara Croft (I used makehuman in support) and now it’s rigging time.
I used “with authomatic weights” on many merged objects with CTRL+J. So I had a single mesh before do it.

So, why? And how to fix it?
I want to remove manually a vertex group from a bone, I think. But how?
aaaaa well there are several different ways to fix the problem…
You say your a newbee but you know enough to have used what? the MetaRigg? right?
and Parented with Automatic weights correct?
and you seem to know how to open up the weight paint window…
note that if you place your Armature in pose mode before you place your Mesh in weight paint mode…
you should be able to just select a bone and see all the places on the mesh it has influence over without blender kicking you out of weight paint mode…
that should help you weight paint that stuff back into place…
but also… know that there is such a thing as weight assignment…
Thank you very much, but after days I’ve found the problem. It was simply a crazy weight paint where the point of the second finger was, in some ways… related to belt and pistols. Anyway thanks for the video. I am not really able in english but I try.
