Hi, right now I am trying to decide how to save my (rendered) animation file like a movie. I am using Cycles Render in Blender v.2.72. I cannot find the output version so that I can save it as an ogv or mpeg. I do not know if it is because of the version I am using, or the render settings, but I cannot find that option. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated! :o
Blender has a a number of options for output formats. You have to go into the render properties and under the Output panel you’ll find a button that offers you a list of choices. For animations, the best thing to do is output PNG or JPG images, and then sequence them together into a video format later in the sequence editor. Otherwise, Blender might crash on a big render.
If you want to just try rendering directly to a movie format, the best one to use is AVIJPG, which creates an AVI file. Most video programs will recognize that format.
Thank you!
