Do anyone now where it is? I haven’t find it.
You can’t load dxf directly into blender. Have a look in the filoe menu.
If you want to convert to another format readable by blender (eg : because of a reading error in blender) you can download the free convertion tool called ‘crossroads’ and save as vrml1.
To find crossroads do a search on google.
You can open a dxf file as you would a blend file. Go to FILE>OPEN> and browse to your dxf file. or click F1 and browse to the DXF.
If you don’t see anything after it supposedly loaded, hit the Home button.
ps. I’ve had a lot of problems loading certain dxf’s saved from Cad software but haven’t figured out why yet.
To open dxf files you do exactly the same as for blender files: F1.
Do a shift-f4 to see the new object.

And don’t forget to do a “RemDoubles” after you imported an DXF-Object.

Why should i do that?
And why does Hannibar says that Blender cannot directly import dxf-files?? When you others says that it can? I start to gett confused.
Hannibar might have mistyped… it happend also to the best
You should remove doubles because DXF can be redundant and you can come up with double vertexes (which is better to disintegrate)
Stefano
Because every face will be a seperate polygon so you would have a lot of overlapping vertices where more than one face meet. By removing doubles you are removing the unnessary vertices.
ok thanks everyone!!
how to you remdoubles?
In edit mode select all vertices. F9 (edit buttons) right hand side at top is a brown button (Rem Doubles) this will remove doubles.

oops. Small mistake.
edit : You CAN load dxf directly into blender.
Sorry for the confusion.
hmm… My Blender craches when i load a dxf-file.
Also sub surf looks really bad if you don’t remove the doubles.
aha! now it’s work.
