all uv texturing tutorials makes reference to it, however my UV menu has all options but that one
When you press U in face mode you get the unwrapping options. If you select “Unwrap” from this menu, the model is unwrapped with the default Angle-based method, which I think works better than the old LSCM.
If you really want to switch back to LSCM, in Face mode press F9 and click the UV calculation tab. In this panel there’s a little rollout menu that says Angle Based. Change this to Conformal, then U->Unwrap.
